BBC News The best internet news site for British and International news (don't expect to find that much US local domestic stuff though). IMDb The incomparable Internet Movie Database. They aren't always accurate, but the sheer volume of data they hold about virtually every movie ever can't be touched by any other site. Dictionary.com As the name suggests, an online dictionary. The best of its kind. Alibris Purveyor of old and rare books, including highly expensive first editions of Leviathan and the Essay Concerning Human Understanding. Amazon.com Online store, great for books, music and movies. They have a lot of obscure books that are difficult to get hold of elsewhere. How Stuff Works Fascinating site which describes how stuff works. Stuff like lock picking, how dolphins sleep, how teleportation might work, and so on. Endless interesting factoids. Jigzone Fun site where you can put together virtual jigsaws. Flame Warriors Very funny site which has surprisingly insightful comments on the types of people you'll meet if you post on any internet forums. My current favourite is Garble.
